Coach Trip

On Saturday 22nd April, 32 trip-goers boarded the coach at Llantwit train station and headed off to Bishops Palace and Gardens in Wells, Somerset.

After a brief history of the palace given by a very knowledgeable guide, we explored the beautiful 14 acres of gardens, the ruined Great Hall, the Bishop's private chapel, and several rooms in the palace containing exhibitions ranging from art to history.

Of course, we also had to sample the locally-sourced homemade food served in the Bishop's Table Cafe!

In the market square we enjoyed browsing the many stalls selling everything from clothes, plants and food, to jewelry, pictures and second hand books.

Luckily the rain held off until we headed for home!

Thanks to everyone who came on the trip, to Pencoed Travel and Dave, our driver, in particular who always looks after us so well.
