September Guest Speaker Report

Our speakers for September were Donna and Chris from Micro Greens Wales which is an Urban,Vertical and sustainable type of farming based near Llantrisant.

The company grow micro greens vegetables and herbs which, because they are harvested so early in their life have a delicate and distinctive flavour - much loved by chefs as a garnish for meals in 'posh' restaurants. They also grow and sell edible flowers and specialist gourmet mushrooms.

The company is an award winning family affair, have been in business since the start of the dreaded covid, and despite Chris being affected by a disease called Ataxia which affects his balance, coordination and speech they are doing so well that they were unable to bring any samples for members to try. Speakers Secretary Cath has promised that they will be invited back - when samples are available. Chris is reducing the number of days he works for the police to allow him more time to concentrate on the micro greens, increasing the quantities and varieties they supply to many well-known eating establishments based in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Please note: There will be no guest speaker in October due as it's time for our Annual General meeting!

We need a minimum of 30 members present for the AGM to go ahead. If you cannot attend please show your support anyway by emailing your apologies as these can be counted.
