MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION INCREASE

After careful consideration and long debate, the committee have agreed to increase the membership fee for the society from £5 per annum currently to £10 per annum from January 1st 2025. 

The committee does this reluctantly due to a sustained increase in running fees for a number of years. The membership fee has not increased in 20 years and we hope the members will agree the new fee still represents excellent value for money at under £1 a month. 

The new membership fee will still cover your attendance at monthly meetings, the running of the summer show, access to our fabulous store, your monthly newsletters and website content and of course covers you AND your spouse or partner. 

We hope the members will understand this increase has been unavoidable and continue to support us. 

So what do I need to do now? 

Before the year is up you will need to inform your bank to reflect the change in fee, so your standing order increases to £10 every January. Please ensure you do this in good time so our membership secretary and treasurer don't get headaches in the new year tracking who has paid what and have to chase you!! 

Of course if members are not able to pay the new fee and wish to cancel their membership please inform the committee.
