Society Summer Show CANCELLATION

Please see below letter from our show secretary

"To all members of the Llantwit Major Horticultural Society.

I trust that this finds you well and managing under the circumstance that we now find ourselves in.

Recently Bill Lee our Chairman and I discussed the staging of our show scheduled for this August and came to the obvious conclusion that this would now be not possible as your safety and well being cannot be guaranteed.

I am at a stage with the arrangements where I would normally ask for the schedules and posters to be printed and contacting various publications for advertisement. I would also be considering the commitment of volunteers for the day who are: society members, the prize giver, the photographer and the judges and making further financial outlay. Currently public gatherings are banned, public buildings are closed and social distancing is in place and there is no timetable when normal will return. The confidence to attend any organised function later in the year is quite probably very low and would be practically challenging .

I would like to thank you for your intended support and would like to ask you to enjoy your gardens and vegetable growing, I hope normal service will be resumed for next year.
