It was with great sadness that the society learned of the recent death of Colin Marsh, a former committee member and stalwart of the society and local community.

Colin's association with the society began in the 1970's and over many years he held various roles, including Store Manager, Treasurer, Auditor, Newsletter Editor and computer guru! He created the computer layout to keep our financial accounts in excellent order and, indeed, our current Treasurer still uses it today.

He helped with the set up and running of our annual show, including the production of the show schedules and was a Best Garden judge. He also arranged trips abroad for the society members.

He was a driving force behind local community projects, particularly that at the railway embankment in the early 1990's, regularly strimming the area, and he was also involved in local school projects.

Colin was one of the nicest people you would ever wish to know and he will be sorely missed. Our heartfelt sympathies go to his wife Ann and their daughters and families.
